In
order to provide more technical staff in the field the MIS. department
will make several changes to our current operational procedures.
One Computer Technician will be reassigned from the Administration
Building into the field. This will provide much needed technical
support and help us to reduce the backlog of service requests in
the district. This move, however, forces us to discontinue the distribution
of all reports printed in the MIS area. All reports printed in the
MIS area must be picked up by the requestor. We will not be able
to deliver reports. MIS will print reports from 9:00 am until 5:00
pm every two hours. Reports will be printed at 9:00 am; 11:00 am;
1:00 pm; 3:00pm; and 5:00pm. These changes are effective, Monday,
December 2, 2003.

Student ID Information
At the start of the 2005-2006 school year we (the MIS department) will be creating student network accounts starting on Sept. 7 and should be completed by Sept. 9. The reason for the Sept. 9 completion date is this: During the first weeks of school, thousands of student transfers and new enrollments take place. If we attempt to create IDs too soon the work load of moving all those IDs is impossible to manage. The moves continue to occur but at a reduced rate until they level off in October.
Between the beginning of school to Sept. 9, network access for students will be available via "generic" IDs. At this time, all elementary schools have a generic ID being the school name. Example, at Anderson the generic ID is "Anderson". At the middle and high schools, students normally use their own IDs so up to Sept. 9 a generic acct. named "student" will be available at these schools as a temporary measure.
These student IDs are for network logins only, NOT for software packages like Renaissance Place, Orchard or Harcourt Math. Likewise, staff network accounts are not affected by this process. Student email accounts will be created by September 9 as well.
